Media Room - Radio, TV & Press
You can have love in every relationship and in every aspect of life.
In his work with thousands of people over 25 years, Bill Ferguson has discovered a profound yet simple approach to healing relationships and having life work.
His approach has been called the penicillin of psychology.
As a former divorce attorney, 15% of his clients never divorced and the ones who did were able to part as friends. The producers of Oprah were so moved by his work that they featured him on one of their shows.
His work has been recommended by both The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. His book, How To Heal A Painful Relationship, has become a national best seller. His newest book, Get Your Power Back, has just been released.
The Texas Counseling Association thinks so highly of his work that they asked him to deliver the keynote address at their annual convention. He spoke to over 2,300 counselors and therapists. See the beginning of the keynote.
A seasoned guest, Bill Ferguson has been interviewed on hundreds of radio and television talk shows across the country. He was on Houston's most popular prime time radio station, Sunny 99.1, every Friday morning for a year.
Bill's discovery
Bill discovered that when a relationship, or any other area of life isn’t working, that area of life may seem to be the problem, but it’s not. It’s the symptom of something much deeper.
The real problem is an underlying condition of resisting or hanging on. This condition creates a state of fear, upset and tunnel vision that destroys your ability to see clearly. It keeps you from finding solutions and it forces you to act in a way that actually magnifies the problem. Learn more
In relationships, this condition creates a cycle of conflict that destroys love and produces needless suffering.
Once this condition is removed, the tunnel vision disappears. You restore your ability to see clearly and can see what needs to be done. Solutions appear and this area of life starts clearing up. In relationships, you can end the conflict, heal the hurt and restore the love, one human being to another.

The Nature of Love and Conflict - Interesting Points:
1. Love is never enough to have a relationship work. The divorce courts are full of people who love each other. To have a relationship work, you need to make sure the other person feels loved.
2. Acceptance and appreciation create the feeling of love. Notice how you feel when someone genuinely accepts and appreciates you. It feels great. The same thing happens when you accept and appreciate someone else.

Why Certain Areas of Life Don't Work - Interesting Points:
1. The problem areas of life are not the problem.
If you have a relationship or any other area of life that isn’t working, there will always be an underlying condition of resisting or hanging on that is destroying your ability to see clearly. It keeps you from finding solutions and forces you to act in a way that magnifies the problem.
2. When you get upset, you make your situation worse.
When you are full of fear and upset, you get tunnel vision. You close down and lose your ability to see what works. All you can do is fight, resist, hang on and withdraw. This in turn makes your situation worse.
